Earthquake Insurance

Did you feel the earthquake?

Chances are, if you're checking us out to answer questions regarding earthquake insurance, you did.

Some companies don't offer earthquake insurance in Oklahoma, simply because we don't have big earthquakes.  Well, we didn't use to.  I've lived here 40 years, and that big one under Lake Thunderbird was the first one I'd ever experienced.  It seems that times are changing!

If you are insured with Travelers, the earthquake premium will run about $85 dollars per year.  If you are insured with Hanover, yours will run about $120 per year.  With Hanover your lowest deductible is 5% of your dwelling coverage.  We will be doing some more research first thing Monday morning to see who offers it, and what their deductibles are.

Fortunately, we don't have any major faults like California.  But that doesn't make it any less scary!

Have a great rest of your weekend!
